Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Amman (L/D)

A very rare opportunity - hike for 3 days through Wadi Rum before following an ancient caravan route to Petra, where you will camp for 2 nights inside the Petra Archaeological Park.

Day 2: Inside Wadi Rum (B/L/D)

After breakfast, begin hiking via Umm Ishrin to a huge sand dune and on to fantastic Nabataean inscriptions, then cross to Siq Al Bariah and camp at the southern end. Overnight: Wadi rum

Day 3: Inside Wadi Rum (B/L/D)

We hike north through Siq Al Bariah to reach Siq Umm Al Twogy with a final destination for the day close to the northern border of Wadi Rum to camp overnight. Overnight: Wadi Rumm

Day 4: Start trek to Petra (B/L/D)

This morning leave Wadi Rum behind you as we begin the trek to Petra. Along the way see Al Kraisa Bridge then continue hiking to Al Humayima. Stop at our campsite for the night.

Day 5: Continuing to Petra (B/L/D)

Start crossing the desert along the ancient Nabataean "Spice Road". Once we arrive at Wadi Abu Sharah we set up camp for the night.

Day 6: Jebel Haroun - Snake Monument (B/L/D)

Today you will begin our ascent into the mountains to Abu Darman where we get a great view of Wadi Araba and the lost city of Petra. After lunch you will climb to Jebel Haroun (where Moses' brother Aaron is buried) then hike to Snake Monument inside Petra. Overnight: Snake Monument, Petra

Day 7: Jebel Haroun - Snake Monument (B/L/D)

Today we spend the day exploring Petra, finally climbing to the High Place of Sacrifice where we will camp for the night. Overnight: High Place of Sacrifice, Petra

Day 8: Petra to Airport - departure (B)

From the High Place of Sacrifice take the al-Madras trail back to the main entrance of Petra. Transfer to QAIA for departure flight (after 2:00pm).
